Who I am

 

My name is Mark. For the past 15 years I have worked as a freelance management & leadership trainer under the name Te Development. I have always had an interest in storytelling, which indeed underpins my approach to learning and development. Alongside this I have played bass for 20 years in bands that write & perform original music including Family Fandango & Stephanie Davies & The Super Dynamics. In 2005 I wrote my first play "Mala & Edek - A Tale Of Auschwitz" which premiered at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival. I have also completed a first draft of a book for young adults (working title), Mr Lucky Fox which I hope to develop to a state where it can be published in 2015.

 

Why write a blog?

 

I recently started work with Gill who will be acting as my writing coach, mentor, leaning post and all round guru. One of the first pieces of advice she gave me was that I needed to develop my writing muscles much in the same way as any other muscle in the body. In particular, I needed to get into the habit of writing something on a consistent basis and she recommended writing a blog would be a useful mechanism to achieve this goal. So that is the plan and this is why I have developed this site as a way for you to read and comment 

 

What should you expect?

 

A good question. As of today (Wednesday 19th November 2014) I don't really have a plan. I will aim to post something at least once a week on any subject that seems worthy of comment. I hope at least some of the posts will trigger some thoughts and responses from you. I hope I can find a way that you will be able to comment through this web site. I am using this quite amazing free software from Wix but I must be honest and say IT is not a particularly strong point of mine. If I do find a way of doing this, please feel free to comment and give me any feedback regarding the content or writing style I will adopt.
